Pedro Sousa (Ponta Delgada, 1976) e Filipe Felizardo (Lisboa, 1985) juntaram-se para uma residência de criação e gravação em Novembro de 2023, a convite da Rádio Vaivém e da editora Marca Pistola. A colaboração deu origem a HORIZONTE ENTÓPTICO, um EP de seis faixas nas quais a electrónica de Sousa se alia à guitarra de Felizardo para investigar poeticamente a riqueza sonora dos Açores. Combinando vocabulários vindos tanto do krautrock e IDM como do doom e do noise, o duo debruça-se sobre field recordings e o cancioneiro tradicional das ilhas. No parecer dos dois músicos, esta construção afigura-se como uma décima ilha onde a angústia e a tranquilidade - entre outras emoções complexas da vivência insular - se podem expressar além das palavras. Do mesmo modo, esperam que este local seja porto de abrigo para novos imaginários que possam tomar forma na mente do público.

Pedro Sousa (Ponta Delgada, 1976) and Filipe Felizardo (Lisboa, 1985) gathered for an exploratory residency in November 2023, invited by Rádio Vaivém the Marca Pistola label. Their collaboration originated HORIZONTE ENTÓPTICO, a six track EP in which Sousa's electronics join with Felizardo's guitar in order to poetically investigate the sonic richness of the Açores.
Combining vocabularies coming as much from krautrock and IDM as from doom and noise, the duo hunkers down with field recordings and the islands's traditional songbook. From the two musicians' perspective, this construction takes form as a tenth island where anguish and tranquility - among other complex emotions of insular livelihood - may be expressed beyond words. In the same fashion, they hope this local can be a safe harbour for new imaginaries that may form in the listener's mind.
