about

木瓜 is a 3000 year old love poem from China, which was first sung to me by a friend around 2011, then translated into portuguese in 2015. I then translated its enunciation into a piece for solo guitar originally released in my Volume VI album. This presentation is an extended and expanded version, in which i took the liberty of parsing the original verses into additional timbric narratives, as well as placing the whole poem inside an harmonic structure which tries to make all the verses and syllables be performed simultaneously, aiming for the candidly voluptuous and devoted kindness of the original words.
As such, this version will hardly ever be played again. Hope you enjoy it.

Percussion - Gabriel Ferrandini
